Grover and Myrtle are a haggard couple who live in a house where every action and object is so ordinary that it becomes surreal. Everything makes sense because nothing makes sense. Grover reads a newspaper with an ad that says, “Love dies at the touch of dishpan hands.” Myrtle is trapped inside the monotony of life within the domestic sphere. While she enjoys a cup of tea, Grover's fate falls to the callous whim of Myrtle's dishpan hands.
Inspired by Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper".
